The numbers behind the nation.
India is full of data. Understanding it shouldn't be difficult.
Every fiscal year, the Government of India, the Reserve Bank of India, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), and state statistical directorates generate hundreds of thousands of pages of official gazettes, press notes, and statistical bulletins.
Yet despite this abundance, fundamental public questions remain difficult for the average citizen or researcher to answer directly: Where does each rupee of national tax revenue actually go? Which states contribute the most net tax receipts and how are they redistributed by the Finance Commission? What is the real progress on capital infrastructure projects across districts?
Crucial public records are often published across siloed ministerial portals, locked inside scanned PDFs, or framed in dense bureaucratic terminology. As a result, public discourse is frequently shaped by viral, unsourced infographics or partisan interpretations rather than verifiable empirical data.
IndiaSimplified is built to close this gap. We ingest, harmonize, mathematically reconcile, and explain authentic statutory records in clear language—providing every citizen, scholar, and journalist with transparent, verifiable public intelligence.
Platform Scope & Intelligence Modules
Our analytical warehouse integrates public data modules across differing official cadences: automated ingestion pipelines for frequent indicators (monthly PIB GST releases, daily CPPP procurement tenders, and trading-session market benchmarks) alongside periodic statutory publications (annual Union Budget statements, multi-year Finance Commission awards, and decennial Census / NFHS surveys).
Gross Tax Revenue (GTR), 4-component GST monthly reconciliation (CGST, SGST, IGST, Cess), direct versus indirect tax yields, and CPI inflation indices.

Zero Synthetic Data
We never fabricate numbers or inject simulated fallbacks. If an official release is unissued, delayed, or incomplete, our pipeline preserves verified historical records and flags the status explicitly as CACHED or UNAVAILABLE.
Statutory Provenance
Every data card carries an inspector badge or cited source note displaying its primary statutory authority, publication vintage, accounting basis (such as Audited Actuals vs. Budget Estimates), and direct official government link.
Client-Side Privacy Guarantee
Our citizen calculators (Income Tax, SIP, Lumpsum, SWP, FD/RD) evaluate personal financial inputs strictly in local browser memory. Zero salary, investment, or deduction details are ever transmitted over the network or shared with external AI APIs.
Strict Non-Partisanship
IndiaSimplified is an independent public-data platform. We have no political affiliations, accept no institutional lobbying, and publish objective empirical records without editorial slant.
To prevent data corruption, our automated pipeline executes 16 distinct domain validations and six strict cross-page reconciliation invariants prior to staging any public release:
- 4-Component GST Verification: Monthly PIB releases must include CGST, SGST, IGST, and Cess, and reconcile with Total GST within 2.0%.
- Union Rupee Allocation: All central budget expenditure shares must reconcile strictly to 100.0 paise against Statement 1 (Budget at a Glance).
- 15th Finance Commission Sum: Devolution shares across all 28 states must total exactly 100.00%.
- All 36 States & UTs: Complete sub-national coverage is required; northeast states and Union Territories are never omitted or grouped.
- Immutable SHA-256 Snapshots: Releases are built into an analytical DuckDB warehouse, hashed with SHA-256, and atomically published only if all validation tests pass.
Public statistical reporting in India follows defined statutory cycles. Macroeconomic indicators such as GDP and GSDP are published initially as Provisional Estimates (PE) or Revised Estimates (RE) and undergo formal statutory revisions over subsequent years.
IndiaSimplified clearly labels the reporting status (Audited Actuals, Revised Estimates, or Budget Estimates) on all financial series. Where upstream portals revise historical benchmarks or adjust reporting methodology, we log changes in our public errata log. Users are encouraged to cross-reference data cards directly with the cited primary government links.
